Ludwig Carrasco began his tenure as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico in January 2023. Previously, he held the same position with the Bellas Artes Chamber Orchestra (Mexico), the Queretaro Philharmonic Orchestra (Mexico), and the Sinfonietta Prometeo (United States).  Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself for his interpretations of the major works of the repertoire, as well as for his commitment to diversity and inclusion in musical programming.

Born in Morelia (Mexico), Ludwig Carrasco is equally at home in the symphonic and scenic repertoire (opera and ballet), as well as multidisciplinary projects. He is also an avid promoter of new music, collaborating closely with leading composers as well as conducting the world premieres of more than 120 works and performing nearly 80 national premieres.

As a conductor and violinist, he has presented concerts in 31 countries in America, Asia and Europe, performing in renowned concert halls and international festivals.

Luckily, the Eduardo Mata Youth Orchestra of the University, under the musical direction of Ludwig Carrasco, was adequate for this work and he achieved positive results via the control of orchestra, good management of tempi and excellent coordination with the singers."
